The Historic Carnival of Ivrea

One of Italy’s oldest and most unique festivals: not just masks, but a historic re-enactment full of rituals and symbols, with the famous Battle of the Oranges. It celebrates the town’s liberation from tyranny thanks to Violetta, the miller’s daughter.

The San Savino Fair

Ivrea’s second great historic event, around 7 July, honouring the patron saint: it celebrates the rural, artisan and above all equestrian soul of the Canavese.

Where we are

In a quiet area yet minutes from the centre of Ivrea: the bus stop is right in front of the entrance, with a café, restaurant, pizzeria and supermarket nearby.

The name Ivrea comes from Eporedia, the colony founded by the Romans in 100 BC; that’s why its inhabitants are called Eporediesi.
